  7. Hi Ian! Henk Burgers. 74322363BC Called up to Vegkop in 1976. Did JL's,-then to 17 Field RGT in Bethlehem (Gerands Dam) where we actually built the base with corrugated ironplates and tarpoles in 1977. Gave basics and training to troops and afterwards went to the Border with them. I got lucky with a section to be posted to operate the pontoon across the the Okavango River at Bagani.Afterwards the bridge was build there. I was called up for 12 months, but joined "verlengde Diens" for another year. Good Memories!!

Licence for Samil 50, Samil 100 tipper, Samil 20, Terex Bulldozer, JH 80-B front end loader, Landrover, Buffel, JCB Tractor/digger. Worked on various projects in Lohatla, Clay Dove shooting range, 1000m Shooting range, as well as destruction of D-Class ammunition

  10. Good, i served with 1 parachute BN in 75. I wonder if someone can assist me with the details if the Zink/aluminium boat used on rivers. Did you guys supply them, did you use them at the border and how many people can it carry.
    I write short novels and would like to use that specific boat in my latest novel. Any information will help. Thanks
